Kat Britten, therapist

The best bit about me is that

I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOU

But of course you want to know a bit more about me, so here are some facts...

Let's start with the fun facts:

I speak English with an accent

I'm a qualified yoga teacher but no longer teach

I'm a mum of two children, two Ragdoll kittens and a Bichon Havanese dog

I lived in Dubai for over a decade

I worked for multinationals  for many years before I turned my life around and started living with a purpose, helping people

My favourite cuisine is Lebanese

My newest hobby is bouldering

"Audible" is my best friend

Sauna followed by ice plunge is my idea of relaxing

My favourite sound in the world is my kittens purring

I can't live without learning something new

I love log burners and cosy winter evenings

I am quite introverted but love helping people

I struggled with low self-esteem most of my life until I took up hypnotherapy

I love camping on the roof of my car

But it's hard to get to know someone based on written words alone. And it's even harder to open up to and trust someone you've never met before, not to mention choosing a therapist.

However, as I'm an introvert, you can imagine that I like to listen. And that's what makes me a good therapist!

The best way to get to know me and decide whether I'm the best person to help you, is to take me up on my invitation

for a free, no-commitment, yet therapeutic,

conversation.

This is my investment in you so you can get to know me a bit more and see whether I’m the right person to help you become who you want to be.

And it also gives me the chance to listen and get to know you to make sure I’m the best person to help you.

I look forward to connecting with you.

I am a qualified and accredited practitioner with an MSc in Psychology from Northumbria University, a British Psychological Society (BPS)-accredited programme, and professional accreditation with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).

I specialise in misophonia. My MSc research explored what it is really like to live with it, and I use Sequent Repatterning Therapy (SRT) to help people change their reaction to triggering sounds.
